An AI blog writer that publishes straight to WordPress
BoltSEO finds the keywords your site can realistically win, writes the article in your brand voice and publishes it to your WordPress blog as a normal post. No copy-pasting between tools, no reformatting headings, no plugin to install.
Why the last step is where blogs stall
Most small businesses on WordPress know a blog helps them get found. What stops them is rarely the idea; it is the routine around it: picking a topic that people actually search for, writing something worth reading, then pasting it into the editor, fixing the formatting and hitting publish, every single week.
BoltSEO takes over that whole loop. It reads your website to understand what you sell, picks keywords against live search data, writes the article with internal links to your existing pages, and hands it to WordPress through the official REST API.
You decide how much control you keep
By default nothing goes live without you: every article waits in the BoltSEO editor until you publish it with one click. When you trust the output, switch on auto-publish (Growth plan and up) and new articles appear on your WordPress blog on the schedule you set.
Because the article arrives as a standard WordPress post, it uses your theme, your blog layout and whatever SEO plugin you already run. You can still edit it in WordPress afterwards like any other post.
Connect WordPress in three steps
- 1
Create an Application Password
In WordPress, go to Users → Profile → Application Passwords, name it “BoltSEO” and copy the password. Application Passwords are built into WordPress since version 5.6; no plugin is needed.
- 2
Add it in BoltSEO
Open Integrations, choose WordPress and enter your site URL, your WordPress username and the Application Password. The account needs the Editor or Administrator role.
- 3
Test and publish
BoltSEO checks the connection and your publishing rights straight away. From then on every article has a Publish button, and auto-publish is one switch away.
What arrives in WordPress
Each article is created as a regular WordPress post through the REST API.
Title and URL slug
A title sized for Google's results page and a short, readable slug.
Formatted body
Clean HTML with headings, lists, tables and images that your theme styles like any other post.
Internal links
Links to relevant pages and posts that already exist on your site, in the article's language.
Your brand voice
Written in the tone learned from your own pages and your brand guideline, in English, Dutch, German or French.
WordPress questions
Do I need to install a WordPress plugin?
No. BoltSEO uses the WordPress REST API with an Application Password, both of which are part of WordPress core since version 5.6.
Will articles go live without my approval?
Only if you turn on auto-publish, which is off by default. Otherwise each article waits in BoltSEO until you click Publish.
The connection test fails. What should I check?
Make sure the REST API is reachable at yoursite.com/wp-json and that the user has the Editor or Administrator role. Some security plugins block the REST API; allow access for application passwords if they do.
How do I disconnect BoltSEO?
Remove the connection in BoltSEO, or revoke the Application Password in your WordPress profile. Revoking it cuts off access immediately, and posts that were already published stay on your site.
Can I use the free plan with WordPress?
Yes. The free plan can connect WordPress and publish articles with one click. Automatic publishing on a schedule starts on the Growth plan.
